PlaylistMaker

Playlist builder for YouTube

Find the very best of YouTube. Line it up in minutes.

PlaylistMaker gives you several ways to search YouTube, lets you sort and filter every result by what matters (length, views, likes, age), and publishes the videos you keep as a playlist in your own YouTube account.

Sign in with Google to publish to YouTube, or use an email address and password to build lists first. What we do with your data

The PlaylistMaker Workbench after a search for soccer passing drills: fifty results with their length, views and likes.

1 · The problem

YouTube is great for browsing, getting video recommendations, and viewing shorts. But what if you want a more focused experience?

A parent planning screen time, a teacher gathering lessons, a coach collecting drills, or anyone who wants a clean list for a long drive wants the same thing: only the videos they chose, in the order they chose. A playlist is one of the few tools YouTube offers for that, but building and maintaining a good one is harder than it should be.

A

Building a good playlist is slow

Search results are a feed ranked for you, and adding a video is a save button on each one. There is no way to compare length, views and likes side by side, or to leave out every Short at once.

B

Maintaining and editing playlists is clunky

Reordering, removing and replacing videos happens one at a time, and videos that go private or get removed leave gaps. Nothing tells you until you press play.

C

Changing the intention of a playlist is hard

Turning a warm-up list into a game-day list, or a bedtime list into a road-trip list, means rebuilding it by hand or editing the original and losing what it was.

2 · How PlaylistMaker solves it

Search, explore, collect, publish.

The Workbench walks you through four steps on one page. Nothing is written to YouTube until you press Publish and confirm.

  1. Search YouTube. Look for videos, channels or playlists, or paste a video, channel or playlist link.
  2. Explore & select. Sort and filter by length, views, likes, comments and date. Flags mark Shorts, private and unavailable videos. Pick by hand, or ask for the top 10 by views.
  3. Collect videos. Gather picks from several searches, channels and playlists into one pool, and reorder it.
  4. Save, then publish. Save the pool as a PlaylistMaker list (up to 1,000 videos), edit it, and publish it to YouTube as a new playlist, or update one you already have.

3 · More to love

Small things that save a lot of clicking.

Stats and filters

Totals, median views and average like rate for any set of videos. Filter by length, views, likes, date, channel and words in the title.

Shorts, private and unavailable flags

The same colour-coded flags everywhere, so a Short, a private video or a removed one never slips into a list unnoticed. Hide Shorts with one switch.

Pick the best in one go

“Select the top 10 by views,” optionally per channel. Select all, clear or invert, and add the whole result set when you want it all.

Import and update

Copy any playlist or channel you can see into a list. Update on YouTube shows exactly what will be added, removed or moved before it changes anything.

Lists up to 1,000 videos

Build big lists in PlaylistMaker. YouTube limits how many changes an account can make in a day, so each publish is capped at 150 videos, and we check your allowance before starting, never half way.

Works on your phone

The whole app adapts to phones and tablets, and can be added to your home screen like an app.

Six looks. Pick the one that feels right.

Use the Look button inside PlaylistMaker to switch between six interface styles: the calm Classic, the dark Signal control room, the editorial Paper, the bold Crate, the glowing Aurora and the TV-inspired Channel. Same features, different mood. Your choice is remembered on your device.

Made for small screens too. Results become touch-friendly cards, the sidebar becomes a menu, and every step of the Workbench works with one thumb.

4 · Your data, in short

We use your YouTube access for one thing: building your playlists.

What we ask Google for

  • Your name, email address and profile picture, to create your account.
  • Permission to view and manage your YouTube playlists, to search, read and publish them.

What we never touch

  • Your Gmail, Contacts, Drive or any other Google service.
  • Your watch history, subscriptions, comments or uploads.
  • Your Google password. We never see it.

What we keep

  • Your account record and the lists you save: titles, video details and their order.
  • A log of YouTube requests (time, kind, success) to watch quota. It does not include the videos involved.
  • Your Google sign-in tokens live only in the server’s memory for your session, and are discarded when you sign out.

Your control

  • Nothing is created or changed on YouTube until you confirm it.
  • Withdraw access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Ask us to export or delete your data and everything saved under your account.
  • No advertising, no analytics trackers, and we never sell personal data.
